Heart is the organ for pumping blood throughout the body. Heart and brain are the only organs that must not stop working for a minute. The pressure of the blood in the body depends upon the force of the heartbeat and upon the tension in the thirty thousand miles of arteries spread throughout the body. For measuring blood pressure two readings are taken: one for the blood pressure at its highest when the heart is actually contracting and one at its lowest when the heart is resting between two contractions. The highest blood pressure recorded is referred to as the Systolic pressure and the lowest recorded is referred to as the Diastolic pressure. This explains the two figures when a doctor refers to blood pressure as being '120 over 80' (these numbers being the pressure expressed in millimetres of mercury). Both the readings are important, but the lower diastolic reading carries a greater significance. The condition of high or raised blood pressure is called Hypertension. W. H. O. has defined Hypertension as a state in which the Systolic blood pressure is 140 mm Hg or more and Diastolic blood pressure is 90 mm Hg or more. Hypertension may be primary in which the cause for rise in blood pressure is not known or secondary in which the rise in blood pressure is due to weight gain or endocrinal or renal disturbances. Hypertension, if left untreated may result in serious consequences like: Cardiac effects: Increased cardiac work load, angina, myocardial infarction and sudden death. Renal effects: Nephrosclerosis, which may lead to renal failure. Cerebral effects: Decreased blood flow, decreased oxygen supply which may cause cerebral thrombosis & haemorrhage leading to paralysis. Many people with hypertension have no symptoms but are being treated to prevent possible future complications. Lowered blood pressure or Hypotension may occur after a heart attack or when there has been a sudden loss of blood, for example after a haemorrhage. To compensate for the low blood pressure, the blood vessels of the skin and muscles constrict to divert blood to more essential internal organs. When the condition is extreme, it is called Shock. Bakson BEEPEE AID effectively maintains normal blood pressure. It is a unique combination of various homoeopathic medicines which act on muscular lining of blood vessels and reduce vascular resistance there by bringng about normal constriction and regulates blood pressure.
