BCT # 8 (DIARRHOEA)
Indications:Helps relieve thin, watery stools with undigested food, increased thirst and weakness.
Composition: Calcarea phosphorica 3x, Ferrum phosphoricum 3x, Kali phosphoricum 3x, Kali sulphuricum 3x, Natrum sulphuricum 3x.
Dosage: Adults - 4 tablets, four times a day or at three hours intervals. Children - Half the adult dose. Or as prescribed by the physician.

Diarrhoea is defined as abnormally frequent intestinal evacuations with more or less fluid stools. It is the passage of 3 or more loose, liquid or watery bowel movements in a day, or more frequently than is normal for the individual. Most common cause is gastroenteritis due to an infection with a virus, bacteria or a parasite. There can be other causes like food allergy, lactose intolerance, certain medications, anxiety or it may be a symptom of Irritable bowel syndrome or inflammatory bowel disease. It often lasts for a few days and can result in dehydration. The three types of diarrhea are:
Action of Ingredients: Calcarea phosphorica: Diarrhoea from juicy fruits or cider; during dentition. Green, slimy, hot, sputtering, undigested, with fetid flatus. Ferrum phosphoricum: Stools watery, bloody, undigested. First stage of dysentery with blood in the discharges. Chronic diarrhoea. Summer diarrhoea. Kali phosphoricum: Diarrhoea; foul, putrid odor; after fright, with depression and exhaustion. Diarrhoea while eating. Dysentery: stools consist of pure blood. Cholera; stools have the appearance of rice water. Kali sulphuricum: Yellow, slimy diarrhoea. Colicky pains; abdomen feels cold to touch; typanitic. Natrum sulphuricum: Diarrhoea, yellow, watery. Loose morning stools; worse, after a spell of wet weather. Stools involuntary, when passing flatus. Great size of the faecal mass. |
