BCT # 5 (CORYZA)
Indications: For inflammation of mucous membranes, headache, sneezing with runny nose and fever.
Composition: Ferrum phosphoricum 3x, Natrum muriaticum 6x, Kali muriaticum 3x, Kali sulphuricum 3x.
Dosage: Adults - 4 tablets, four times a day or at three hours intervals. Children - Half the adult dose. Or as prescribed by the physician.
Contra-indication: None

Expiry: 5 years from the date of manufacturing.

Coryza or the common cold is an inflammatory contagious disease of the upper respiratory tract where it affects the mucous membranes. It is an acute, self-limiting disease most often caused by rhinoviruses and coronaviruses. Although, influenza virus, parainfluenza virus, respiratory syncytial virus, enteroviruses and adenovirus may also cause coryza. It can be transmitted through inhalation of airborne respiratory droplets or from direct contact with infectious secretions. Symptoms are nasal discharge, nasal obstruction, sneezing, sore throat, fatigue and cough. There may also be burning in eyes, loss of smell and taste, and pressure felt in ears or sinuses. Coryza should be differentiated from allergic rhinitis, non-allergic pharyngitis, influenza, etc. Action of Ingredients: Ferrum phosphoricum: Common colds. First stage of cold in the head. Predisposition to colds and sore throat. Natrum muriaticum: Violent, fluent coryza, lasting for one to three days, followed by obstruction of the nose, making breathing difficult. Discharge thin and watery, like raw of an egg. Violent sneezing, coryza. Infallible for stopping a cold commencing with sneezing. Kali muriaticum: Catarrh; phlegm white, thick. Stuffy cold. Hawking of mucus from posterior sinuses. Vault of pharynx covered with adherent crust. Kali sulphuricum: Colds with yellow, slimy expectoration. Nose obstructed. Anosmia. |
