Thyrotoxic Drops: Thyrotoxicosis is a condition characterized by an excessive amount of thyroid hormones in the bloodstream, leading to a state of hyperthyroidism. It occurs when the thyroid gland produces an abundance of thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3).

Causes of Thyrotoxicosis:

• Graves' disease: an autoimmune disorder where the immune system attacks the thyroid gland, causing it to overproduce hormones.
• Thyroid nodules or goiter: abnormal growths in the thyroid gland can lead to excessive hormone secretion.
• Thyroiditis: inflammation of the thyroid gland, causing hormone leakage into the bloodstream.
• Overuse of thyroid medications: excessive intake of thyroid hormone medication.
• Iodine-induced thyrotoxicosis: excessive intake of iodine, through diet or medications, triggering thyroid hormone release.

Symptoms of Thyrotoxicosis:

• Increased heart rate and palpitations
• Trembling of hands
• Profuse sweating and heat intolerance
• Weight loss despite increased appetite
• Nervousness and anxiety
• Fatigue and muscle weakness
• Diarrhea or frequent bowel movements
• Enlargement of the thyroid gland (goiter)
• Bulging eyes (exophthalmos) in Graves' disease

Composition: Atropinum 8x, Hekla lava 8x, Iodium 4x, Spongia tosta 4x, Bromium 6x, Natrum muriaticum 8x.

Indications: Bakson B 56 drops is a homeopathic medicine used in alleviating symptoms associated with Thyrotoxicosis, such as trembling of hands, excessive perspiration, exophthalmos (abnormal protrusion of the eyeballs), emaciation (extreme thinness), diarrhea, and other related symptoms.

Dosage: During the initial week of treatment, take 10-15 drops in a small amount of water four times daily before meals. In the following week, reduce the dose to three times daily, and thereafter, take it twice daily, or as directed by the physician.

Contra-indication: None

Side effects: Bakson B 56 Drops is used for the management of thyrotoxicosis and since it is a natural formulation it has no known side effects.
